Clay County Memorial Hospital Gift Shop is conveniently located on the ground floor in the front lobby of the hospital. The Gift Shop carries greeting cards, unique gift and household items and jewelry. Volunteers are ready to assist you with your purchase and can deliver gifts to patient rooms.
The gift shop is open 9 am to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All monies generated through the gift shop are returned to the hospital in contributions and needed medical equipment.
Volunteers are a great asset to any organization and we feel ours are extra special. They have chosen to volunteer for a variety of reasons. Maybe their loved one was hospitalized here and they feel a need to give back or they are looking for a new experience or to develop new skills.
Others want to stay active after retirement and meet new people. Above all, just about every one will tell you they volunteer so they can make a difference in someone's life. Whatever the reason they choose to volunteer, they bring a wealth of knowledge, diversity and experience to our hospital along with a lot of care and concern.
Fifteen volunteers assist in the various service areas throughout the hospital: Information Desk, Gift Shop, family waiting areas, and the business offices. They also distribute mail, gifts and flowers, and the local newspaper to our patients. Money generated from the gift shop is used for major equipment purchases and donations to hospital projects.
In 2011, the CCMH Auxiliary donated $8,968 toward hospital equipment purchases.
The outstanding volunteers of the CCMH Auxiliary provided 2,240 volunteer hours in 2011.
